8 to 15 – Pray and Expect

Categories: 8 to 15,Blog,Featured,Sermons

Why do we need to pray for the people we are trying to reach?

  • The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2 Cor. 4:4)

  • For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Cor. 1:18)

  • They all joined together constantly in prayer, (Acts 1:14)

  • They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)

  • When was the last time you could say you were devoted to prayer?

“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:44)

“And I, when I am lifted up[g] from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” (John 12:32)

We are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14)

We are children of the light. (Eph. 5)

God will draw all people to himself through his Son.

How God draw people when his son is not walking the earth?

Us.

Problem: The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Solution: Pray & Expect

Pray that God will open their eyes to see the light.

Expect God to create opportunities to shine your light in front of them.

Pray that God will open their eyes and expect him to create opportunities for you to shine your light.
