Monday Morning Mission – Invest & Invite

Categories: Blog,Featured,Monday Morning Mission

You mission for this week is simple: Invest & Invite.

Invest in a relationship with someone in your 8 to 15, so at someone time this Summer you can invite them to church or a church event.

What would be fantastic is if you’ve already been investing in a relationship and you’re ready to invite them now. Why would that be so great? Because you could invite them to go out to dinner with you on Friday evening for Parent’s Night Out.

Even if you’re not ready now, if you start investing this week, you’ll be ready soon.

Our goal is that everyone from our church invites someone from their 8 to 15 before Sunday, September 1st.

What is 8 to 15? It’s not a scheme or a strategy. It’s your extended family. Your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers…those you share life with most closely. Your sphere of influence. Your relational world.

Each one of us has 8 to 15 people that God has put into our lives. He has put us there to be the salt and light to them. We are there because this is God’s plan for reaching the world.

Yes, God gives some the ability to walk up to a stranger and share the gospel, to go door to door and have conversations with stay at home moms and all the other things we view as evangelism. But, the majority of people who come to Christ, do so because someone they know invited them.

There are friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, store clerks, baristas, etc. in your life right now that you can and should be reaching. That’s why God put you in their life.

But I’m scared.

Me too. That’s why we’re just asking you to invest in the relationship and then invite them to a church event.

And you don’t have to worry, we’re not going to yell at them, make them feel guilty or ask them for money. We’re just going to love and accept them, share practical ideas for living from the bible and share with them the ABC’s.

So, what do you think? Are you up for it? Will you join us in this mission?
