On Sunday, October 11th, we introduced you to My SixEight. There are 5 things that make up My SixEight.
- My Relationship
- My Community
- My Service
- My Story
- My 6-8
It’s my responsibility to pursue God. David can’t do it for me. My family can’t do it for me. My friends can’t do it for me. I have to take the responsibility for pursuing God. It’s on me to read His word daily. It’s on me to pray daily. It’s on me to worship daily. It’s on me to give. It’s on me to be caring. It’s on me. It’s my relationship. No one else can do it for me.
Today, I wanted to encourage you to take your relationship with Christ as your personal responsibility. Jesus died on the cross so that you might find life in Him. Not in the pursuits of this world that our lives get so entangled in. Jesus died on the cross to make you right with God, the veil that separated God’s presence from ordinary men and women was torn in two. You have access to the God of the universe. Your savior is not a figure on a shelf, He is the real person of Jesus Christ.
Today is the beginning of a new week. You got up this morning and started your weekly routine as you usually do. Before you get too far into this week, find some time pursue your relationship with Christ. Your relationship with your family will be better if you make Jesus first. Your relationship with your neighbors will be better if you make Jesus first. Your relationship with your co-workers, even that crazy one, will be better if you put Christ first.
I want so badly for all of you to pursue Christ first. But, I can’t want it bad enough for you. You have to want it for yourself. You have to see for yourself that this is the most important thing you will ever do. It’s not something I can do for you.
Read your Bible today. Pray today. Worship God today. You have the opportunity to have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe. Take your relationship personally.
Make some time today. Don’t wait until tomorrow. Do it today.
