SixEight Day – 2014: June 8th.

06 June, 2014

Post By : David Lindner

If you haven’t heard, this Sunday, June 8th, is 6:8 day! What exactly is 6:8 day, you might ask? Well, it’s a day where we’re going to celebrate all that God has done in our church. But not just that, we’re going to put our name into practice. We’re not going to just come and sit, instead we’re going to go out and do.

So, this Sunday, if you have a 6:8 shirt or hoodie, or a coffee mug or even something bright green, wear it! If you don’t, we’ll have shirts on sale on Sunday morning for you to purchase. Shirts will be on sale for $5! If you don’t want to do that, we have a couple of stamps and we can put a big 6:8 circle on your cheek or neck or something. 🙂

SixEight-DayWe’re going to go into the community and pick up trash and make our presence felt by being warm and inviting. If you get a chance to talk to someone while you’re out, invite them back for a free lunch! Jim has worked hard to create some routes for us all to take. At the end of the service, we’ll simply break up into groups of 2-4, take a route and go. Kids will say in the nursery and 6:8 kids while we go out. (Parents make sure to leave your cell phone number, or the number of someone in your group in case of emergency.)

Then, we’re going to have a fajita bar potluck of sorts to celebrate what God has done! If you’re last name starts with A-K bring a salad or side dish. If your last name starts with L-Z bring some kind of dessert. (I thought about changing it to be A-A bring a salad and B-Z bring a desert, but that probably wouldn’t be very wise of me…) We will start the potluck at 12:30, so do your best to be back on campus before then. Parents, plese be back by noon at the latest.

We hope you’ll join us for this fun day of celebration!!!

See you Sunday!

I am blessed to be able to serve SixEight as the Lead Pastor. As a pastor, my first aim is to follow God, my primary ministry is to my wife and 4 kids. They are amazing! When it comes to our church family, I get the pleasure of leading our church to follow God. This is truly a gift that God has given to our family, and we are honored and humbled to serve Him in this capacity at SixEight!
