If you have visited us at SixEight Church, you know that we are all about Doing Justice. In fact, if you visit us, (and we remember to ask you to do it:) we donate a pair of socks to Northwest Children’s Outreach for every connection card we receive from a 1st or 2nd time visitor. It’s one small thing we can to make a difference in our local community.
It’s also a way for us to encourage our guests to be proactively involved in combatting the issues that plague our society day in and day out. We can’t just stand by as the less fortunate fall through the cracks. We have a passion for this in our church, but we can only do so much. We will continue to create programs to meet these needs as we have the opportunity to do so, but that’s not going to get us very far. The way we win in the long run is by helping everyone who walks through our doors to see the role they can play in meeting these needs.
On top of that, Northwest Children’s Outreach is a local organization that is dedicated to helping families in the Portland area and surrounding communities. They help fill the needs of these families, providing clothing, infant care products, diapers, formula and many of the other necessities parents need for their children.
So, do you want to do justice in our community? One of the simplest ways you can do that is by visiting SixEight on a Sunday, or by bringing a friend with you. By being at our service and filling out the connection card you can help make a difference.
It’s kind of a no-brainer. 🙂
