The Christmas Set Up, A Journey Through The Christmas Season

30 November, 2018

Post By : David Lindner

It seems that the Christmas season is getting busier and busier every year. We start off the holiday season with the best intentions not to let ourselves get carried away by the hustle and bustle of the season. But we still seem to find ourselves overwhelmed by obligations and underwhelmed by the meaning we’d hoped to experience this year.

It’s so easy to get busy and before you know it the season has passed us by. We wanted to help with that. We wanted to help provide a way to keep us focused on the big themes of this season: Love, Peace, Joy & Hope.

This Christmas season, we are going on a guided journey through the Christmas season. And we’re going about it in a different way. We have written a fictional story to share with you. Our hope is that you’ll go along for the ride as we follow Jack through his attempt to try to give his friends a Christmas they will never forget.

There are several ways you can stay up to date:

1.) Facebook

Every day on our Facebook page, we will be sharing a chapter from the book in video format. Monday – Saturday, the videos will be up at 12:15pm. On Sundays, they’ll be up around 4:00pm.

2.) Spotify

You can subscribe to the podcast in Spotify, where audio recordings of the book will be released at 5:00am (Pacific Time) every day.

3.) Google Play

You can subscribe to the podcast in Google Play on your windows or android device, where audio recordings of the book will be released at 5:00am (Pacific Time) every day.

4.) iTunes Podcasts

(We are still waiting for the review process to finish. As soon as we have approval, we will post the link.)

5.) Read along at your own pace.

If you’d prefer to read them instead of watch or listen, you can do so by clicking this link. We will make the chapters for that week available each Monday morning for you.

You can listen to each chapter by clicking the links below. (They are in reverse order, so chapter 1 is at the bottom of the list.)

I am blessed to be able to serve SixEight as the Lead Pastor. As a pastor, my first aim is to follow God, my primary ministry is to my wife and 4 kids. They are amazing! When it comes to our church family, I get the pleasure of leading our church to follow God. This is truly a gift that God has given to our family, and we are honored and humbled to serve Him in this capacity at SixEight!
