After speaking honestly, the criminal turns to Jesus with a bold, simple, beautiful request:
“Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” (Luke 23:42)
He doesn’t ask for escape.
He doesn’t ask for relief.
He asks for relationship.
The Greek word μνήσθῃς (MNAY-sthays) means “remember”—not intellectually, but relationally. “Hold me in Your heart. Don’t forget me. Let my life matter to You.”
It is one of the most vulnerable prayers in Scripture.
And Jesus answers instantly:
“Today you will be with Me…”
Not when life improves. Not when he proves himself.
Today.
Your future is not secured by your strength—it’s secured by Jesus’ remembrance.
