At SixEight, our beliefs are not meant to be weapons, slogans, or hung on walls. They are the roots that shape the kind of people we are becoming. We are centered on Jesus, formed by Scripture, dependent on grace, and committed to living out Micah 6:8: acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God.

You do not have to have everything figured out before you walk through our doors. We welcome questions, doubts, honest conversations, and people from different backgrounds. This page simply explains the core convictions that guide our church, shape our teaching, and call us to love God and our neighbors well.

What we believe about God:

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully human, who came into the world to reveal the heart of God, rescue us from sin, and bring us into new life with Him.

What we believe about Scripture:

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Through human authors, God has given us a true and trustworthy witness to who He is, who we are, and how we are called to live. Scripture is our authority for faith, worship, discipleship, and life together.

What we believe about people:

We believe every person is created in the image of God and has deep dignity, worth, and value. We also believe sin has broken our relationship with God, with one another, with ourselves, and with creation. Because of this, we cannot heal what is broken by self-improvement alone. We need the grace and mercy of God.

What we believe about salvation:

We believe Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead to forgive sin, defeat death, reconcile us to God, and make us new. Salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not something we earn by our goodness, effort, or religious performance.

What we believe about the Christian life:

We believe following Jesus is a whole-life calling. By the power of the Holy Spirit, Christians are called to become more like Christ in our character, desires, relationships, decisions, and daily lives. We are not simply trying to believe the right things; we are learning to become the kind of people Jesus taught us to be.

What we believe about the Church:

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world.

What we believe about the Community:

We believe the Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. God forms us in community, where we learn to love, forgive, serve, encourage, challenge, and carry one another’s burdens. We want SixEight to be a place where people are known, welcomed, and invited into deeper life with God and others.

What we believe about the Community:

We believe Jesus did not merely call people to attend religious gatherings, but to follow Him. Discipleship is the lifelong process of learning the way of Jesus and helping others do the same. We want to be a church that practices what Jesus taught, not just a church that talks about it.

What we believe about Justice, Mercy, and Humility:

We believe Micah 6:8 gives us a clear picture of the life God desires: to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. This means we care about what is right, we move toward people with compassion, and we resist pride, self-righteousness, and the temptation to use faith as a way to look down on others.

What we believe about Peacemaking:

We believe followers of Jesus are called to be peacemakers. In a divided world, we want to be people who tell the truth, listen carefully, pursue reconciliation where possible, and refuse to treat neighbors as enemies. Peacemaking does not mean avoiding hard conversations; it means having them in the way of Jesus.

What we believe about Mission:

We believe God has placed us in Battle Ground to love our neighbors and bear witness to Jesus in word and deed. We want to make a difference from within the community, not by condemning the world from the outside, but by living lives of faith, hope, love, mercy, and courage.
