Saturday, September 12th could quite possibly be the funnest day on NW 9th Avenue all year long. Why is that, you might ask? Well, because we are throwing a party and we love having a good time. Do you like to have fun? If you don’t, you should probably stay home.

Will you come and have some fun? Will you invite your friends? Will you grab your mama, grandmama, friends, neighbors, co-workers, boss, your boss’s nephew and your 2nd cousin’s nephew and bring them with you?

I mean seriously, why wouldn’t you want to come? Seriously? Why? Tell me now! Why?!?!

Ok, all kidding and sarcasm aside, we hope you’ll join us and invite some friends to come with you for a jolly good time!

What’s happening at our church this fall?

Just like school and other things are getting started this time of year, a lot of stuff at our church is getting going right now as well! If you want to know more about what kind of church we are, check out our thinking of visiting & FAQ pages.

We are SixEight Church.

What does 6:8 mean? What in the world kind of name is SixEight anyway? Well, it comes from Micah 6:8 which says: “He has shown you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? But to do Justice, and to Love Mercy and to Walk Humbly with your God.”

We want to be people Do justice, Love Mercy and Walk humbly. And we want to start by doing that in our community. That’s why we do things like the Food Pantry, Donate Socks to Northwest Children’s Outreach, VBS, Backpacks for Eisenhower, prEaster and the Block Party. We want to Do Justice, Love Mercy and Walk Humbly right here in our Hazel Dell community.

If you’re looking for a church that is intentionally trying to make a difference in our community, you should come check us out!

Our service is on Sundays at 10:00am. And you can learn more about our church by clicking here!

One of the biggest things we do at SixEight is the SixEight Food Pantry. We started the food pantry a little over a year ago. And in that year we have grown from serving around 50 families to serving over 150 families. If you are looking for a place to volunteer, you should check us out! If you need food assistance, feel free to stop by Wednesdays from 1-3pm.

By the way, this year we started our very own community garden – the SixEight Community Garden. If you are a gardener who would like to contribute to our project, we would love to have you join us! If you’re looking for a place to do some gardening, or want to grow some produce to help feed our food pantry guests, we would love to have you join us! We have a ministry of coffee here at our church. We take it seriously. It’s a place to get some good tasting coffee as well as to make a difference in our community! We are helping people get the experience they need to find a job. All the proceeds go to support the work we do in this community too. So, you get good coffee – Win. You’re helping people – Win. And you’re supporting the community – Win. It’s a win win win.

Oh yeah, almost forgot to tell you: If you come visit on a Sunday morning, you get a free drink! Boom!

This is a simple truth: Women go to the bathroom in herds. Men don’t. So,we want to meet men on their turf. So, we have turned a room into a Man Cave with a 65″ TV. On Monday’s we watch Monday Night Football. On Thursdays we get together and talk about being manly. On the last Saturday of the month we get together and eat bacon.

So, if you’re a man, consider this your invitation.

We have a youth group that meets on Wednesday  & Thursday evenings. On Wednesday, our high school age young adults get together for a time of study from 6:30-7:30, then an outreach time from 7:30-8:30. Our Middle Schoolers do the same thing on Thursday Evenings.

So, if you’ve been looking for a youth group in the area to send your kids that has a focus on serving the local community, plus has a lot of fun and an awesome Student Pastor, then this is the place for you!

SixEight Kids

Your kids are important to you and they’re important to us. So we are striving to provide a safe and fun environment where you kids can learn about a God who loves them very much.

If you come to church on a Sunday, you will be able to drop you kids off with our volunteers who will spend the service caring for your kids, having fun and making sure they have an awesome time.

That’s some of what we do here at SixEight church. There’s more to our church than that. We would be honored to have you join us for a service on Sunday mornings at 10:00am. If you’re looking for a church home, or a safe place to try out this church thing, then this is a great place for you!
