Peace rarely begins where we expect it. We imagine it starts when life settles down—when December chills out, the schedule clears, and the loud things get quieter. But Scripture insists: peace begins not in calm circumstances, but under covering.
At Passover, Israel wasn’t peaceful because Egypt became kind. They were peaceful because God stepped between them and destruction. “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” Peace began with God’s action, not Israel’s effort.
That’s still true. Christ is our Passover Lamb, and peace comes from His covering, not our capacity to stay calm. Your circumstances may not feel peaceful today. But you are covered by a God who doesn’t flinch, forget, or fail.
Reflection Questions
- Where have you been waiting for circumstances to calm down before believing peace is possible?
- What part of your life needs the reminder that peace starts with God’s covering, not your performance?
Closing Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the God who covers and protects. Help me rest in Your rescue today. Amen.
