We would love to have you visit us! We have taken some time to put together some answers to some of the questions we receive from people who are thinking about joining us. You can read through those below.
However, we want you to know that we take your visit very seriously. We know what a big deal it is for anyone to try out a church, and we want to do everything we can to make your time with us as beneficial to you as possible.
If you have any concerns that aren't addressed in the questions below, we would love to talk to you about them. We know that every family and person is different so we do our best to be sensitive about that.
Whatever your need may be, we hope to be able to meet it!
If you're thinking of visiting us, you should also check out the About Us page, to learn more about what kind of church we are.
We are located at:
8802 NW 9th Avenue
Vancouver, Washington 98665
From The South
If you are coming from the south (basically anything south of 78th St.) on I-5, take the 78th street exit and go west (turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp). You’ll go through the next intersection (which is Hazel Dell Ave.) and go up the hill. At the top of the hill, turn right onto NW 9th Ave. at the light. You will drive past Jason Lee Middle School, and then the church will be on the left (west) side of the street.
From The North
If you are coming from the north, (basically anything north of 99th st.) on I-5, take the 99th st. exit and go west (turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp). You’ll go through the next intersection (which is Hazel Dell Ave.) and continue on 99th until you see Columbia River High School. You will then turn left onto NW 9th Ave. You will go past an elementary school and then the church will be on the right (west) side of the street.
Our service starts at 5:00 pm. We share a meal together from 5:00-5:45. After that we have a time of worship and prayer before the teaching time which usually begins around 6:10-6:45.
- We believe the entire Bible is the inspired word of God.
- We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience and rebellion.
- We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin.
- We believe that Jesus died, was buried, on the third day rose again. He ascended and is seated at the right hand of the Father and sent the Holy Spirit to empower every believer to live a life that produces the fruit of Christ.
- We believe that every Christian should live their lives because of God's love poured out for them.
- We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head.
That's great! We'd love to have you join us. You don't have to know everything to be a part of our church. We want to get to know you and hopefully you'll see what we believe as you get to know us!
Our music is stripped down and simple.
We don't care what you wear, we just care that you're there!
Our church is made up of people who come from all different kinds of backgrounds: Catholic, Baptist, Wesleyan, Evangelical Free, Lutheran, Mormon and more. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here!
Anything. We sing a few songs together each week. We work to incorporate the arts in our church as well. We may do some polls to get the “audience” involved. There may be videos, stories, props. We just try to keep things fresh.
Absolutely! Kids are a very important part of our church. We keep the kids with us through the meal and family worship time, then one of our awesome volunteers will teach the kids a lesson during the adult teaching time.
We won't put you under any kind of pressure to give. There won't be an usher staring you down, waiting for you to put something in the basket. If you feel compelled to give, you are welcome to do so. But you are under no obligation.
Those who call SixEight church home give back from what God has given to them as an investment in the work God is doing in and through this church. That's why we take an offering during our services, so that our regular attenders have the opportunity to worship a God who gives generously.
We think that makes us the perfect church for you. You are welcome to come and bring your questions about God. Ask about whether or not God exists, ask about pain and suffering or any other questions you might have.
We desire to be the kind of church where it is safe for anyone, believer or or not, to ask questions without being judged. God is big enough to handle any question we may have.
If you have questions now, go ahead and ask us! Contact Us!
The best way to get involved is to join us for our service on Sunday morning at 10:00am. We believe that every Christ-follower has a gift God wants to use to build up the church.
All you have to do is ask! It would be our privilege to answer any questions you might have about SixEight! (Contact Us)
