Rahab’s peace didn’t come from strong walls. Jericho’s walls were legendary—and they collapsed like sandcastles. Her peace came from a single scarlet cord, tied to a promise from God’s people, anchored in God’s character.
The rope looked too fragile to matter. Her circumstances looked too dangerous to overcome. Yet God remembered the cord. God preserved the window. God rewrote her story.
Peace doesn’t come from building thicker walls around your life. It comes from trusting the One who knows exactly where your window is.
You might not feel strong today. But your peace doesn’t rest on your strength—it rests on God’s remembering.
Reflection Questions
- Where are you tempted to trust the “walls” you built instead of the God who saved you?
- What small act of trust—your own version of tying the scarlet cord—might God be inviting you to take?
Closing Prayer
God, thank You for remembering the windows I fear You’ll forget. Help me trust Your promise more than my walls. Amen.
