Not everything that looks like light leads us toward God. Some light is counterfeit—it promises speed, certainty, and safety, but it burns out quickly and leaves us drained.

Real light works differently. It doesn’t overwhelm or force. It guides. It gives just enough illumination for the next step, but not enough to eliminate trust.

Discerning the difference requires honesty. We have to ask not just what feels convincing, but what is trustworthy. God’s light may feel slower and riskier, but it leads to life.

Reflection Questions:

  • What kind of “light” have you been following lately?
  • How can you tell the difference between urgency driven by fear and guidance rooted in trust?

Prayer:
God, give me discernment to recognize Your light. Lead me away from false security and toward Your truth. Amen.
